Olia started her career in immigration law in October 2015 as a Registered Migration Agent with Bardo Lawyers. After more than a decade working in the migration profession, she was admitted to legal practice as a solicitor in 2026.
For Olia, immigration law is particularly rewarding because of the very real impact it can have on a person’s life. She is passionate about supporting individuals and families from the very beginning of their migration journey, helping them understand their options and build a clear pathway forward. She also takes particular pride in assisting clients whose circumstances have become complex or uncertain, including those seeking to regularise their immigration status, overcome legislative barriers, or reunite with loved ones after long periods of separation.
Some of the most meaningful aspects of her work are seeing families reunited, clients regain certainty about their future, and people who have faced difficult immigration histories finally get their lives back on track.
Since commencing her career, Olia has gained significant experience and achieved successful outcomes across a wide range of immigration matters, from primary visa applications through to complex merits review and judicial review proceedings. She regularly advises clients on challenging matters involving family and partner visa pathways, family violence provisions, visa refusals, Schedule 3 requirements, section 48 bars, visa condition waivers, health waivers, character-related issues, visa cancellations, citizenship matters and Ministerial Intervention requests.
In addition to her legal qualifications, Olia holds a Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law and Practice and a Master of Australian Migration Law and Practice. She was also recognised with the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence and is a member of the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA). Fluent in Arabic, Olia is able to communicate directly with clients from diverse backgrounds and ensure they feel understood, informed and supported throughout their immigration matter.
Beyond her legal practice, Olia is committed to supporting the next generation of legal and migration professionals. She has mentored students undertaking practical experience under her guidance, providing insight into immigration law, professional practice and career development. Olia values the opportunity to share her experience with aspiring professionals and to help students build confidence, practical skills and a deeper understanding of working with clients in complex and sensitive matters.
With a genuine passion for immigration law and a compassionate approach to advocacy, Olia remains committed to assisting individuals and families, particularly vulnerable members of the community, to navigate the migration system with greater clarity, confidence and security.
